With this apathy I thee wed

Apathy. A noun defined as an “absence or suppression of passion, emotion, or excitement.” Apathy is a “lack of interest in or concern for things …” And it’s also what keeps most relationships together, I think.

Certainly it describes accurately the way mine was as it approached the end of its shelf life. There was definitely a lack of excitement between us. A lack of interest.. And an absence of passion.

There was no hatred or loathing. There was no unpleasantness, even. There was just a lot of neutral, nothingness – a load of apathy.

And I know I keep banging on about it:  but OMIGOD life is too short to live in an apathetic relationship!
