2nd date fears

No, I am not scared of the date – that’s been / done already. I am scared of “what now” though! You see, this guy .. who we’re calling DTR (Drunken text recipient) .. has taken me out on two lovely dates in a matter of days.

Nothing can be faulted:Β He was attentive. Charming. Entertaining. A gentleman. Doors were opened. Meals and drinks generously paid for. Enjoyable kisses. Even some fun discussion about politics. No awkward moments for us – it was .. surreal.

So it’s now the day after date 2.

We’ve exchanged a few texts.. quite a few .. (he started it!) and in amid these, there’s talk (from him) of doing something during the week but .. and herein lies the concern..

Is it too fast?

IS this what happens when you get old?

Gone are the days of weekend dating, you’re a grown up – you can go out anytime you want now Mum isn’t waiting up for you! So therefore it’s entirely possible we could go thru a month of dating inside 7 bloody days.

But I ask you ..

HOW can this be a good thing?

Hells bells, we’ll be in divorce court by Xmas!!

  1. Go with your heart live with your heart and you will not lose! Time is a gift and we only have so much of it while we are here, You are Beautiful and quite amazing so that being said the best of luck to you and DTR! My wish for you from my heart is the deepest greatest love in yours!

  2. It is a good thing but only if he’s worth it… A month of dates within a week with a kick ass guy sounds, well, kinda kick ass. πŸ™‚
I know my words are full of wisdom, you are welcome ha!!

  3. Dating does seem to move at the speed of light these days. Everyone seems to want not just an instant connection, but an instant relationship. I remember when slow and steady was the norm.

If it feels right, go for it!

  4. Look at the increased amount of available time to spend together as a positive thing! You two can make more memories, get to know each other faster and more in depth without waiting so long in between meetings. Take advantage! πŸ™‚

    • I like the way you think *grin* As everyone has said – (cos I also have little choice, let’s face it!) I will go with the flow and see what happens .. it’s a novelty this whole deal so that makes it all the cooler but all the scarier too πŸ˜‰

  5. Man, I think a lot of women tend to panic when things go well…relax. Sounds like you had two nice dates with a guy who, at the very least, knows what he’s doing. Don’t fault him for that. It’s going well – that doesn’t mean marriage or anything super serious is lurking anywhere in the vicinity. You’re having a good time, so don’t think too much and over-complicate things. And weekday dates are nice.

Granted, if he says “I love you” over dinner on Tuesday (or whenever it is), then maybe it’s time to take a step back. : )

    • baaaaaaahahahah omg @ step back cos I love you, heck yes! I don’t think that’ll happen, he’s very “in control” .. it’s me that’s the nutjob πŸ˜‰

As you say, he knows what he is doing. Which is very sexy and attractive .. and if you’ve read any of my old posts you know I’m sooo good at this shit so that’s why I’m so calm *grins*

  6. You need to calm down πŸ˜‰ go with the flow, what happens will happen, I think there is no such thing as to fast or slow, do everything at your own speed and if your enjoying it, then enjoy it, stop worrying!! And if it does not work out … give me a call πŸ˜‰

  7. I agree with Sandy. Don’t overthink it, just do what feels right!

  8. The Weekly Argus

It’s neither good or bad. If it’s meant to be it’s meant to be. If it works out, that’s great; if not there are other fish in the sea.

Would you like a few more cliches? I have an abundance of them if you do! But I guess we should cross that bridge when we come to it.

  9. I’m late sounding in on this. You are right, that a few texts takes up a week of dates, however, you seem to have a lot to say to one another. That’s not a bad thing! That means you are enjoying each other. Win,Win! Go with it…see where it goes. And let us know, will ya?
